Let's review.

Your first paragraph assumes if the woman had a gun in the home, the killer would have taken it away from her and killed her anyway. What evidence do you use for this assertion? Typically, in a confrontation between an armed individual and an unarmed individual, the odds favor the armed person. This is specifically true for weapons that do not require a great deal of strength or skill to wield effectively, like guns.

Your second argument is better and more reasoned. More police on the streets do indeed help lower the crime rate. However, as the last two sentences of my post point out, the State cannot guarantee your safety. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own well being.

Overall, thanks for the comment.CRBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17564562180611871909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908780234831191740.post-4154549732618757682008-12-31T18:35:00.000-06:002008-12-31T18:35:00.000-06:00Good thing handguns are not more readily available...Good thing handguns are not more readily available or the killer might have killed a lot more people. It is also good to know that she did not have a hand gun, because if she were like most women in this situation the killer would have a gun now.

The killer had accomplices – the people that selfishly refused to pay high enough salaries to policemen and refuse to give them an adequate budget to protect our communities. In other words, the main source of these horrible violent crimes is due to people fighting all tax increases no matter how important or needed they are.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908780234831191740.post-85784002591531591902008-12-31T17:22:00.000-06:002008-12-31T17:22:00.000-06:00Good Stuff!Good Stuff!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
